  16. Phoenix, Arizona -- May 10, 1991 -- The International Macintosh Users Group
  17. has been formed to facilitate the distribution of Macintosh User Group tools
  18. and information between Macintosh User Groups internationally and create a
  19. method for interaction between all Macintosh User Groups.

  21. International Macintosh Users Group (IMUG) goals include:
  22. 1). The creation of a non-profit organization dedicated to the enhancement of
  23.     Macintosh Users Groups world wide.
  24.  
  25. 2). To provide an outlet for the sharing of information and User Group tools
  26.     to all Macintosh Users Groups. Such services will include creating a pool
  27.     of resources from all IMUG members, distributing a catalog of available
  28.     tools and providing a central ordering point. Items of interest will
  29.     include MUG library selections, newsletter articles, newsletter sharing,
  30.     MUG CD's, special MUG discount programs, ideas for fund raisers, training
  31.     programs, MUG products, speaker scheduling, supporting development of new
  32.     Macintosh products that benefit the User Group community and more.

  34. 3). MUGADMIN the National Macintosh Users Group Administration fidonet echo
  35.     will be utilized for supporting this international effort along with
  36.     other electronic message services including AppleLink. MUGADMIN is designed
  37.     as a tool to help User Groups share information among the MUG leadership
  38.     community and to help provide an active source for input from other
  39.     IMUG leaders. MUGADMIN is a great resource for those leaders who desire to
  40.     share information.

  42. 4). To meet the needs of the International Macintosh User Group community
  43.     in developing, creating and continually forming the type of tools which
  44.     will provide quality of membership to all associated IMUG organizations.

  46. Who should join IMUG?
  47. Macintosh Users Groups who would benefit from the sharing of information and
  48. User Group tools among Macintosh Users Groups world wide. Those MUG
  49. organizations who believe they have tools to provide other MUG's and are
  50. willing to contribute to the growing IMUG resources. Individuals who desire to
  51. start a MUG and do not wish to "recreate the wheel". Those individuals or Users
  52. Groups who wish to be notified of the services available to IMUG members.

  54. How do I join IMUG?
  55. IMUG membership is $25.00 US for one year and can be purchased by sending
  56. $25.00 to: IMUG, 718 E. Campbell Ave., Gilbert AZ 85234. Membership includes a
  57. special directory of services available which lists: availability of monthly
  58. MUG library disks, monthly newsletter articles, Macintosh speaker listings,
  59. special member product offerings, discounts on participating National MUG
  60. products, New MUG specific products, ideas for fund raisers, membership drives,
  61. and International MUG networking for success. IMUG members will be able to
  62. choose services they are interested in providing their MUG membership from a
  63. selection of resources. In this way, MUG's can meet their specific needs to
  64. enhance the quality of their Macintosh Users Group and share resources.
